Why are there so few comments?
Many works now have several dozen comments, but rare or less popular titles may only have a few comments, and many works still do not have any comments at all. Additionally, new works are added over time and will thus take a while to build up a significant commentary base.

I wrote my comment. Where is it?
Your comment should appear, provided you wrote it and approved it after previewing it. Also, double check that you are accessing the comment page for the correct title. If you still think there is a problem please contact the Webmaster at classics@classics.mit.edu.

How do I (un)subscribe to(from) a comment area?
Use the forms located at the bottom of the comment lists to subscribe or unsubscribe your e-mail address to the comment areas. You may also subscribe to a comment area when you post a new comment. If you have trouble unsubscribing, send send e-mail to the Webmaster (including the title and author and your subscribed email address).

How can I fix formatting errors in my comment?
There are two common formatting errors you might encounter: paragraph separators and URLs. To delineate a new paragraph, you can either skip a blank line or indent the new paragraph with three or more spaces. For URLs, simply specify the standard form of the URL (such as http://www.lycos.com/), and it will automatically be wrapped with the proper HTML to make the link active when it is viewed. If you can't fix a formatting error, send e-mail to the Webmaster (including the title and author and the comment number, if you know it).

Why aren't the comments threaded?
The comment facility provides a mix between a flat list and a hierarchical tree. Comments are listed chronologically, but comments in response to other comments include a link back to the original comment. This format seems appropriate to the nature and frequency of the comments.
